We’ve gathered a new selection of objects and references that are currently inspiring us in the garden here at Steep Hill. Each reflects a commitment to design integrity, material honesty, and longevity.
01. STRAWBERRY BLONDE MARIGOLDS (Canadian)
The ultimate garden MVPs. They deter deer and lure pests away from leafy greens. This variety displays a gorgeous spectrum of peachy pink, soft yellow, and rusty red blooms.
02. RAW BRASS HOSE HANGER (Canadian)
An elegant solution to an often unsightly garden staple. Worthy of being front and centre, this hanger is from GOODLAND, a Canadian brand known for elevated gardening accessories and stunning hot tubs.

The perfect hardworking, quick-slip clog. They are made right here in Canada and very reasonably priced.
05. TULIPIÈRE (Vintage)
An effortless way to display fresh flowers without the hassle of arrangement. Just slip a few stems into each spout for an instant al fresco luncheon centrepiece.
06. HARVEST BASKET(Canadian)
Nothing says cottagecore quite like gathering fresh blooms and produce in a charming, hand-woven basket. This beauty is crafted by willow-weaving artist Alex Rooted in B.C.
07. WROUGHT IRON PATIO SET (Vintage)
We’re hunting for a quaint outdoor dining set for The Heirloom Sleeping Cabin. This one hits the sweet spot between whimsical detail and timeless simplicity.
Now that our rhubarb is established, we're considering clay pots like these to warm the soil for an earlier harvest next year (and more snacking cake!). The lack of light creates a sweeter, less acidic crop. as many times as possible.
Highly comfortable yet perfectly presentable for running errands and general cottage living. They fit the bill beautifully and come in multiple colours and inseams.
Peonies are a deer-resistant favourite of ours, but finding sturdy, non-plastic supports for massive blooms is tough. These British steel supports are the best we've found. Sadly, they only ship within the UK, but I’ve seen what I needed to see.
11. GREEN HOUSE INSPIRATION (lots of ideas on our Pinterest Board)
Steep Hill greenhouse dreaming has officially begun! So long as we’re dreaming BIG, the The Crane or The Chambers by Alitex is a north star. If we’re being a bit more realistic, Canada Greenhouse Kits has a few lovely options.
