BUILD YOUR SANCTUARY:
The Heirloom Sleeping Cabin

Proven design,
built for reality

Expertly engineered and designer led, the Heirloom Sleeping Cabin is a field tested design ready for your lot. Whether building a guest sanctuary or a strategic first phase for your property, these plans will get you well on your way.

Unlike the majority of building plans on the market, the Steep Hill Heirloom Sleeping Cabin is not a concept, it is a reality. We didn’t just draft these plans; we built them on our property in Muskoka and called this cabin home for over a year and a half.

Every material, finish, and fixture has been tested for functional durability and enduring style. Expertly developed by a Professional Engineer and Designer team, these plans offer a bridge between heritage charm and modern structural integrity.

The layout:

Heritage style meets

practical living

This 16×28’ cottage-style home is designed to maximize every inch of its footprint.

Whether you are building a lakeside getaway, a guest sanctuary, or a secondary dwelling, the Heirloom Cabin offers:

A Bright, Airy Atmosphere:

Large windows and an entry door with a substantial divided lite flood the space with light. The living area features a vaulted ceiling, creating a spacious feel that defies its compact footprint.

Main-Level Comfort:

A primary bedroom tucked away from the common living area is spacious enough for a queen bed and includes a walk-in closet for storage and utility access. 9ft ceilings and classic wainscoting create a charming and restful space.

The Flexible Loft:

A 107 sq. ft. loft overlooks the living space below, providing the perfect overflow area for sleeping, storage, or a quiet workspace tucked into the treetops. An ideal feature for families with kids.

An Elevated Bathroom:

A compact yet luxurious space designed for a refreshing start or a calm end to the day. This bathroom features a roomy walk-in shower and custom vanity cabinetry, offering a sophisticated aesthetic and functional storage rarely found in a small-scale dwelling.

Thoughtful Lighting Design:

A professional lighting plan creates a warm, inviting atmosphere through every season. Carefully placed interior fixtures create a lighting plan designed to highlight the vaulted architecture and ensure a cozy, well-lit sanctuary at any hour.

Comprehensive UTILITY ZONE:

The integrated utility zone provides modern convenience without compromising the cabin's heritage charm. This area is expertly planned to house both laundry and a dishwasher, making it a fully capable space for long-term stays or high-turnover rentals.
